Deja Blue, the purified, popular-priced water, first appeared in Texas in 1997. By 2002, Deja Blue's distribution grew to include 10 states, with availability in portions of 10 others.

Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages expanded the brand nationally in September 2002 because of the growing interest by consumers in bottled water.

Today, Deja Blue continues under the management of Plano, Texas-based Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages, the largest non-cola soft drink enterprise in North America and the largest beverage subsidiary of London-based Cadbury Schweppes plc.
